Macomb High School Girl's Basketball's Sophie Whitford will continue her basketball career at Carl Sandburg College. Whitford made the announcement Wednesday at Macomb High School.
Whitford finished her senior season third on the Bombers in scoring with 6.8 points per game. She hit a team leading 45 three-pointers, on an MHS squad that led the state in threes, and hit the seventh most in state history.
Whitford becomes the second player on Macomb's 2017-18 squad to sign on at the next level, with fellow senior Jordyn Hare announcing last month that she will play at Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
